Data Collection

Tonic collects zero data.

We do not:

• Collect personal information
• Track your usage or behavior
• Record your listening habits
• Use analytics or tracking tools
• Store any data on external servers
• Share data with third parties
• Require user accounts or login

Local Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your iPhone:

• Quiz responses: Your consultation answers are saved locally to generate personalized recommendations
• Sound preferences: Your selected tonic, volume, and timer settings
• App settings: General preferences saved using iOS standard storage

This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is not accessible to any external services
• Is automatically deleted if you uninstall the app
• Cannot be accessed by other apps

Permissions

Tonic requests the following iOS permissions:

Background Audio (Required)

Allows sounds to continue playing when your screen is off or you switch to other apps. This is essential for sleep use cases.

No other permissions are requested or required.

Tonic does not request access to your microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, or any other personal data.

Internet Connection

Tonic does not require an internet connection and works completely offline. The app never:

• Sends data over the internet
• Downloads content from servers
• Contacts external APIs
• Performs background data transfers

All sounds are either generated algorithmically on your device (white, pink, and brown noise) or bundled with the app (rain, ocean, and forest sounds).

Third-Party Services

We use no third-party services.

The app does not integrate with:

• Analytics platforms (no Google Analytics, Firebase, etc.)
• Advertising networks
• Crash reporting services
• Cloud storage providers
• Social media platforms

Children's Privacy

Tonic does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. The app is safe for all ages (rated 4+).

Data Deletion

To delete all app data:

1. Go to Lab Notes in the app and tap "Reset All Data"
2. Or uninstall the app to remove all data automatically

Since no data is stored externally, deleting the app removes all traces of your usage.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices (we don't plan to), we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. The app will also be updated to notify users of significant privacy changes.
